At one time, America was among the best educated nations in the world. James Madison of Virginia, a key architect of the Constitution, said, “A well-instructed people alone can be permanently a free people.” But surely James Madison nor other founding fathers would have viewed some of the modern developments in education as positive. For example, a transgender lawmaker in Michigan recently said that pornography was educational for kids. Melanie Kurdys does not agree.
