Our country has become, to use the words of Dr. Richard Land, “The Divided States of America.” And even within the various states, we see more political division. While America’s founding fathers were by-and-large professing Christians with a Biblical view of governemt, there are many today that have other worldviews. Focus on the Family writes: “Meet Hasan Piker. The 35-year-old radical boasts more than three million followers – most of them men between 18 and 34 years of age – on the video streaming platform, Twitch. Piker identifies as a Democratic Socialist of America, whose followers want to overturn our capitalist society. Piker admits his political beliefs are even further left than those common to other DSA folks, who are usually a blend of progressive and radical ideas. Emily Washburn, an issues analyst and writer for Focus on the Family’s Daily Citizen, wrote, “Piker is many things – virulent antisemite, revolutionary communist and self-avowed America-hater among them. But he has also emerged as one of the most influential figures shaping the politics and worldviews of young people, particularly young men.
