Podcast with Attorney Jenna Ellis on Same-sex Marriage Versus Religious Liberty

Topic: Same-sex Marriage Versus Religious Freedom.

The first freedom listed in our Bill of Rights, that is, the first Ten Amendments to the Constitution was religious freedom. America was largely founded for and upon the principle of religious liberty. But sometimes immoral laws can impede that religious liberty. It’s a zero sum game. An example is same-sex marriage. Those who disagree with same-sex marriage can find their religious liberty. For the most part, same-sex marriage was imposed on America by the courts, including the Supreme Court in 2015, in the Obergefell decision. Recently on November 10, the U.S. Supreme Court announced that same-sex unions will continue to be recognized legally as same-sex ‘marriages.’ The American Family Association (AFA) has consistently opposed same-sex marriage because it is a threat to the religious freedom, family stability, and America’s legal heritage. Jenna Ellis is the Senior Adviser of Public Policy, American Family Association (AFA, www.afa.net). AFA has nearly 2 million constituents worldwide. Jenna Ellis joins Jerry Newcombe to discuss this issue.  www.afa
