Podcast with Author T. Martin Bennett on a Story of Providence and Redemption in the Midst of Human Evil

Topic: Pearl Harbor and God’s Forgiveness.

In the Providence of God, there was an amazing Christian conversion after the United States defeated Japan in World War 2. The man converted was named Mitsuo Fuchida. Because of the defeat of the Empire, he was disillusioned and lacking any hope. But he was given a Christian tract by an American stranger. He ended up giving his hear to Christ. This man, Captain Mitsuo Fuchida was the Japanese officer who spearheaded the 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7. The very man who had declared, “Tora! Tora! Tora!” gave his heart and life over to Jesus Christ. He began to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ to people all over Japan and America. He even came back to Pearl Harbor on the twenty-fifth anniversary of the attack with a gift in hand for the survivors: a Bible with Luke 23:34 a inscribed in it (“Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do”). Now a new book tells the amazing story of the conversion of the man who shouted, “Tora! Tora! Tora!” (which means Tiger! Tiger! Tiger!—that was their chosen code word for the attack on Pearl Harbor. Author T. Martin Bennett has written a new book on this amazing story. His book is called, Wounded Tiger. Josh McDowell called the book “mesmerizing.” The book contains 300 pictures, many of which have been rarely seen. T. Martin Bennett joins Jerry Newcombe to tell this incredible story of God’s redemption in the midst of man-made tragedy. www.woundedtiger.com
