Podcast with Corey Miller on Reform Needed in Higher Education

Topic: Needs for Reform in Higher Education.

The original universities in America, like Harvard, Yale, and Princeton, were all founded for the glory of God and the advancement of the Christian faith. Of course, the vast majority of them have gone secular. But some wonder about the degree of this secularization—is it shutting down alternative viewpoints? The nation was shocked by the recent murder of Charlie Kirk—as he was advocating free speech and debate and promoting Christian values at a university. Dr. Corey Miller is a former professor and the author of a new book called, The Progressive Miseducation of America: Confronting the Cultural Revolution from the Classroom to Your Community. Consider Miller’s warnings, “America is undergoing a cultural revolution. Even when the political pendulum swings the other way, it is likely brief. America is big and has a durable history set up wisely by the founders. But it is not bulletproof….Robust freedom is not freedom from something but freedom to something….Today, the university is a case study in groupthink…ideas have consequences; bad ideas have victims.” Dr. Corey Miller, president of Ratio Christi, joins Jerry Newcombe to discuss the need for reform in higher education. www.ratiochristi.org
