Our founders were concerned that the people would be virtuous. And our system won’t work if it’s immoral. John Adams put it this way, “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.” Fast forward to today. Here we are ten years after the Obergefell decision in the Supreme Court—in favor of same-sex marriage. We were told at the time that it wouldn’t be such a disruptive case. Glenn T. Stanton is the director of Global Family Formation Studies at Focus on the Family.
