George Washington said that religion and morality are indispensable supports to our political well-being. So what does that mean for our day as religion and traditional morality seem to lose much of their influence? Os Guinness once said that the Puritans lived as if they had swallowed gyroscopes, while we modern Christians live as if we have swallowed Gallup polls. How does social media impact our society? Dr. Gregory P. Seltz, the executive director of the Lutheran Center for Religious Liberty, fights for religious liberty in America out of his Washington, D.C.-based office. Dr. Seltz, the speaker emeritus on the Lutheran Hour, wrote an article recently entitled “Beware the Lemmings,” where he warns against the potential of group-think via social media—especially if that group-think does not square with the Bible.
