Podcast with Historian Jane Cook on Ben Franklin and Cancel Culture

Topic: Cancel Culture and Ben Franklin.

Although we think of cancel culture as a new phenomenon. It really isn’t. In fact, historian Jane Hampton Cook, who has written books on our nation’s founding, wrote an article recently on this topic. It’s called, “How Ben Franklin Fought Cancel Culture in His Time.” She notes: “When cancel culture came for Ben Franklin – here’s how this founder fought back. If Franklin were alive, would he agree with the 64% of Americans who believe that cancel culture threatens freedom? Yes, because he lived through it.” Historian Jane Hampton Cook joins Jerry Newcombe to discuss cancel culture and the founding fathers, beginning with Ben Franklin.  www.janecook.com
