Podcast with Jeremy Dys on Religious Liberty Victories

Topic: Religious Freedom and Public Schools

America was established largely for the purpose of religious freedom. But in some cases that freedom has eroded—for instance, in our public schools. Attorney Jeremy Dys writes: “Every year, my firm, First Liberty Institute, receives dozens of requests for legal help from students and teachers who face hostility from school administrators and attorneys for simple acts of religious expression. Despite recent rulings by the U.S. Supreme Court that clarified the rights of students and teachers to express their religious faith, in too many school districts around the nation, the knee-jerk reaction to religious activity is intolerance, hostility and censorship.” Jeremy Dys is senior counsel of First Liberty. He recently wrote an op-ed (to which we’ll link), which I just quoted. He argues that school officials these days need a fresh education themselves on the First Amendment, religion, and the schools. Jeremy Dys joins Jerry Newcombe to discuss this.
