For the first 200 years or so, American education was Christian-based, and it helped propel the nation into excellence and great achievement. But in the last few decades our school systems too often falls way short of preparing children well. One of the things in schools that continues to cause children do poorly in school is “Social Emotional Learning” (SEL). It may sound good, but respected psychologist Dr. Robert Jones IV warns that SEL is causing anxiety among many children. SEL undermines academic achievement. It makes such preposterous claims as “math is racist.” SEL promotes the notion of truth being relative, not absolute.
