Does America have Christian roots and does it matter? The license plate of the state of Massachusetts calls it “The Spirit of America.” In 1620, the Pilgrims landed there and soon settled in Plymouth. A decade later, the Puritans came in massive ways and created what they called “a city upon a hill.” They created Boston. Author Stephen McDowell is the president and co-founder of the Providence Foundation, and he often leads tours on our nation’s Christian roots, including in the Boston area.
