Podcast with Seth Udinski on DeChristianizing C.S. Lewis?
Topic: DeChristianizing C.S. Lewis?
Is Netflix poised to theologically corrupt the classic writings of C.S. Lewis? Are they going de-Christianize the classic “The Chronicles of Narnia” by C.S. Lewis, who has often been described as the greatest Christian author of the 20th century. Lewis was an Oxford, and later Cambridge, professor. He wrote books such as Mere Christianity and The Problem of Pain. He also wrote Christian fiction for children, including his Narnia series, which begins with The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. In such books, the Gospel and Christian principles are taught. But as Netflix is working on a new adaptation of these works, are they going to try and rob them of their Christian content? Specifically, is the Lion character (Aslan) who clearly represents Jesus Christ being somehow neutered, as the noted actress Merryl Streep has landed that role? Seth Udinski is the producer and co-host of Financial Issues, a nationally syndicated radio and TV program on over 500 stations across America. The Christian Post has an article on this, to which we will link. Seth Udinski joins Jerry Newcombe to discuss this controversy surrounding a remake of C.S. Lewis’s Chronicles of Narnia. www.FinancialIssues.org
