The incoming second term of President Donald J. Trump, only the second president to win re-election in a non-consecutive term, seems to be making history, even though it has just begun. Dr. Paul Kengor is an historian, a political science professor, and a best-selling author, including books on Ronald Reagan, with whom we can easily draw some parallels to Trump. Dr. Kengor wrote an article, for example, on the hostage crisis that Reagan faced and a different one that Trump faced. Kengor notes that when he was sworn in on the Bible, which was opened to 2 Chronicles 7:14, Reagan said: “We’re not, as some would have us believe, doomed to an inevitable decline.
