Should Christians be more engaged in the culture? The late Dr. D. James Kennedy answered that question with a resounding, “Yes.” He said many of the social maladies we see today have arisen in part by Christians abandoning our role as salt and light in society. Dr. Kennedy said, “We have retreated from politics, government, the media, and higher education, and we have left it to nonbelievers. We have failed to fulfill our responsibilities as citizens….and we have allowed this great blessing of a godly nation to slip through our hands.” Well, one group that has indeed worked hard to engage the culture with Christian values is the American Family Association, the AFA.
