Liberty trees in the American story began with the Stamp Act in 1765. Protesting patriots met outdoors under large trees to avoid being accused of political opposition to the King. The last standing original Liberty Tree was felled in 1999. Its history, while standing for over 600 years, was remarkable. But even now, its legacy lives on - Hear how!
